Manaku came from a family of painters. He was the son of the painter Pandit Seu and the younger brother of the more popular Indian artist, Nainsukh. Like his father and brother, Manaku was an important practitioner of Pahari painting. While he borrowed formal techniques from his farther, Manaku developed his own style and produced many works for the court of Guler. One of his famous works is The Meeting of the Eyes.
