The Lady of Shalott is a painting by John William Waterhouse based on a ballad by Lord Alfred Tennyson of the same title. The artists created three paintings on the subject, but this one is the most famous. The style of the painting was adopted from Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Considered as one of the best paintings by Waterhouse, this work of art depicts the ending scene of Tennyson’s 1832 poem. It features a mysterious-looking woman on a boat in a seemingly dreamy landscape.
