Leonardo da Vinci was fond of sketching anatomical parts. He also did sketches of head, hands and other body parts before putting them on canvas. These sketches are called studies. “The Study of Hands” is one of the surviving drawings by the Renaissance master. As the title suggests, it is a sketch of hands poised in a gracious gesture. The medium used in this drawing are ink and metalpoint. It is currently under the care of The Royal Collection, Windsor Castle in London.
