These sketches are called studies. “The Study of Hands” is one of the surviving drawings by the Renaissance master. As the title suggests, it is a sketch of hands poised in a gracious gesture. The medium used in this drawing are ink and metalpoint. It is currently under the care of The Royal Collection, Windsor Castle in London.
