William Pratt was a Scottish painter during the 19th century. Though his name is not as well known today as his more famous contemporaries, his works continue to do well in auctions. Among his finest works is "School Days." It features two girls wearing a white dress and walking barefoot along a path, perhaps on their way to school. Each is wearing a different hat. They are brightly lit by the sunlight, which also shines upon the calm, vast green landscape in the background, beyond the fence.
