"The Thames below Westminster" depicts that side of London on a misty spring day. The colours are hazy to capture the foggy atmosphere. In the painting is the River Thames, and Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament in the background. Jetties cast reflections on the water, which add a dramatic effect to the work.
