"The Beach at Sainte-Adresse" is a painting by Claude Monet painted in the 1860s when he was still 27 years old. He was ahead of his time and his landscapes were unconventional. Because of this, his paintings at that time were often rejected by the conventional artists and were rejected by the Paris Salon juries. But 10 years after this painting was made, Monet finally exhibited this beautiful work during the second Impressionist exhibit. The painting features a grey and cold day on a beach. Some fishermen are on the shore. Some boats are docked, while others are on the water, sailing despite the threatening weather.
