On the Bank of the Seine, Bennecourt by Claude Monet - Famous Art - Handmade Oil Painting on Canvas
Camille and Claude spent a romantic retreat at the rural town of Gloton. While in this retreat, Monet painted several works, using Camille as a model. Unfortunately, only one painting from that period survived, which is the "On the Bank of the Seine, Bennecourt." In this painting, Camille is sitting on a field of grass, under the shade of the trees near her. She's on an island and is looking at Gloton's hamlet at the other side of the river Seine. Some boats can also be seen banked on the river.
