The water lilies are those found in the pond of Monet's garden in Giverny, particularly the Asian garden. One of the paintings from this series is the "Le Bassin Aux Nympheas," also known as "Water Lily Pond, 1919." Monet captures the deep greens of the water lilies and the pond, as well as the reflections of foliage on the thick water.
