Procession by the Lake, 19C by Chinese Qing Artist
Procession by the Lake (in the Chinese Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911) is a multi-faceted scene. Set amongst an idyllic scene, we see a procession in the far distance, winding its way along the lake, crossing two bridges, before finally reaching the promenade along the water's edge. There is much celebration and activity with several supporting onlookers watching the passing carriages or playing music instruments and waving fish shaped banners.
